We had an overnight stop in Geraldton, the windsurfing capital of the nation. Unfortunately there wasn't enough wind that day to test my rusty windsurfing skills. Geraldton is also one of the last big towns where we can buy groceries and refuel at decent prices. Geraldton is a nice town with a nice breeze and very decent food.

Next stop is the Kalbarri region, a national park with river gorges, swimming bays and a stunning coastline. It is also our first encounter with a less pleasant side of the Australian outback. Flies and mozzies ! Flies that are in dire need for water during daytime hours and therefore feast on moist in your eyes, nose and mouth. Bloodthirsty mozzies on the other hand come out at dawn, sting through your clothes and eat you alive with hundreds of them.
